Braiden McGregor received an offer from Alabama on Saturday.
After an insane visit, I’m excited to receive an offer from the University of Alabama! I’m excited to have the opportunity to play tight end in college! Big thanks to the coaching staff, can’t wait to come back! #RollTide #SEC pic.twitter.com/IvtGjeH7t9

McGregor is a 2020 3-Star recruit out of Port Huron Michigan. The Tide’s offer is McGregor’s 17th offer. The news was delivered by Nick Saban and several members of his staff.
“After the game, I meet with coach (Nick) Saban, coach (Dan) Enos and coach (Jeff) Banks,” McGregor said. “They all offered right there. It was pretty awesome.”
Although the Tide is the 17th program to offer McGregor, they are the first to offer him as a tight end. Some schools have shown interest at playing McGregor at tight end, but none have offered. This made Alabama’s offer even more surprising for the Michigan native.
“I played tight end a little bit here and there this season,” McGregor said. ” I had some good highlights I guess. That is what really stood out to me. They like what they saw on the couple of plays on my highlight film, where I played tight end.”
McGregor hopes that the Tide’s offer motivate other schools to recruit him at the tight end position. Alabama’s coaching staff ensured McGregor that their tight ends will get more attention in the passing game in the future.
The Iron Bowl atmosphere also caught McGregor’s attention. He has been to several college football games, but it was something different about Bryant-Denny Stadium on Saturday.
“You couldn’t hear the person sitting next to you,” McGregor said. “It was loud all the game. The atmosphere was crazy. I couldn’t believe how energetic the fans were.”
It is not hard to see why teams want McGregor to play defensive end. He racked up over 90 tackles during his junior season.
Alabama has one verbal commitment for a tight end in the 2020 class and McGregor would give them two great ones. Touchdown Alabama Magazine will keep you updated on all of Alabama’s recruiting moves.
