Alabama looks to reload on linebackers in the 2019 class
The depth at the linebacker position has haunted the Tide in the past and they look to put that behind them during the 2019 recruiting cycle.
Alabama currently has two verbal commits from linebackers in the 2019 recruiting class in Shane Lee and King Mwikuta. The Tide’s newest commit, Christian Harris, is a 4-Star athlete and will most likely line up at the linebacker position as well. 2019 linebackers, Nakobe Dean and Henry To’oto’o, remains at the top of Alabama’s linebackers target list.
Harris committed to the Tide on Wednesday, when he flipped his commitment from Texas A&M. One look at his film and it is easy to see why he is considered an athlete. He could easily line up on the offensive side of the ball and play multiple positions. His knowledge of the offense should carry on to the next level along with his speed and athleticism.
Lee will fill a need for the Tide at inside linebacker. He possesses the leadership qualities to play the position. His ability to move sideline to sideline and adjust his hips makes him a decent defender in the passing game. Enrolling early should help him out a ton.
Dec. 15 will make it a year that King Mwikuta has been committed to the Tide. MwiKuta will most likely line up at the outside linebacker position for the Tide and be used in a similar role to Anfernee Jennings and Christian Miller.
Nakobe Dean will announce his commitment on Dec. 19 and a commitment from him will strengthen this group of young and hungry linebackers. Dean also plans to enroll early. Henry To’oto’o remains high on the Tide as well. To’oto’o is a 4-star linebacker out of De la Salle.
