Tua Tagovailoa was selected as an Polynesian college player of the year finalist on Thursday.

AJ Epenesa, Alohi Gilman, Dru Samia and John Urua rounded out the finalist list. Tagovailoa would be the first Alabama football player to win the award, if he is selected. He has thrown for 3353 passing yards and 37 touchdowns this season
This award is presented by the Polynesian football hall of fame. It is awarded annually to the most outstanding college football player of polynesian ancestry. The inagural award was presented to Marcus Mariota in 2014.
The SEC offensive player of the year award was awarded Tagovailoa on Wednesday. He will attend the 2018 Heisman ceremony on Dec. 8 as a Heisman finalist in New York.
