Jordan Battle was an Ohio State commit up until Wednesday morning when he flipped his commitment and sign with the Tide.
Battles is a 4-star defensive back out of Fort Lauderdale Florida. He is the Tide’s 24th commit in the 2019 recruiting class.
The Tide made it clear that they wanted to add Battle when he was a Buckeye commit. He took an official visit to Alabama on Nov. 9 and things went well, but it looked like Ohio State will take the crown as Battle had great connections with the Ohio State staff, but then Urban Meyer announced his retirement.
Meyer’s retirement opened the door for Battle’s commitment.

With Battles’ commitment, the Tide now has five commits from defensive backs in the 2019 recruiting class. Alabama hopes this is the first of many big commitments today.
