Star linebacker limited, UA starts practice for Clemson

Cedric Mason - Touchdown Alabama Magazine

Alabama and Clemson will face each other for a fourth time on Jan. 7, and for the third time it will be for a national championship. Nick Saban and the Crimson Tide punched its ticket for the matchup at Santa Clara, Calif., following its 45-34 win over Oklahoma in the Orange Bowl.

Despite sophomore Tua Tagovailoa being listed at “80-85 percent,” he shredded the Sooners for 318 passing yards with four touchdowns on 24 of 27 completions. Kyler Murray would try to make the game interesting late; however, the contest never got out of hand for the Tide.

It suffered a slight casualty with linebacker Christian Miller not returning after sustaining a hamstring injury, but Saban confirmed all rumors with it being minor pull. Alabama started practice for the Tigers on Tuesday and listed below are notes from the first session.
