Monkell Goodwine humbled by Alabama offer

The Crimson Tide offered Monkell Goodwine on Thursday.

Goodwine is a defensive end out of National Christian Academy in Fort Washington, Maryland,. He is a 2021 recruit. The Tide’s offer is one he feels very grateful to have.

“It feels pretty good, but I am humbled about it,” Goodwine said.

Alabama’s offer gives Goodwine 25 Division 1 offers. They join Georgia, Florida, Kentucky, Tennessee and Texas A&M as the only SEC schools to offer Goodwine. Two of the Tide’s newest coaching hires help informed him of his offer.

“My coach told me,” Goodwine said. “Coach (Charles) Huff and the defensive line coach (Holmon Wighins) had to approve the offer.”

Alabama is expected to have Goodwine n campus at the end of the March. He also pland on visiting Auburn, Clemson, Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi State, Tennessee and Georgia Tech.

Goodwine is one of the few guys, who can play sideline to sideline at 6-4 and 264 pounds. He has the speed to set the edge and uses an aggressive rushing technigue with a quick first step.

5-Star defensive end, Chris Braswell, is the only DE committed to Alabama at the moment. Braswell is also a product of the DMV area also.
