Dylan Brooks reflects on Alabama offer and visit

Alabama extended an offer to in-state recruit, Dylan Brooks, on Feb. 19.

Brooks now holds 13 Division 1 offers and is a 2021 recruit. He is a product of Hansley High School in Roanoke, Alabama,. Hansley used Brooks as a defensive end and outside linebacker during his sophomore season.

Being a native of Alabama has made Brooks very familiar with what type of player the Tide is looking for.

“I was happy to receive the offer,” Brooks said. “They are a winning team and they are looking for the best players to play for them.”

Alabama got Brooks on campus on Mar. 2 and he got to talk with some of the Tide’s coaches and view some of their facilities. The Tide’s linebacker coach Sal Sunseri was who informed Brooks of his offer in February. Brooks has expressed that Sunseri is a coach, he will not mine playing under.

At 6-5 225 pounds, Brooks has a lengthy frame with a nice jump off the line. He has the speed to protect the edge and make it hard for runners to turn the corner. His lengthy arms aid on the rush as he is able to make tackles on fleeing runners, which will be a harder for someone with a shorter wingspan.

Alabama’s 2021 class has yet to gain a verbal commitment, but one could be coming soon as they have extended multiple offers over the last two months. Touchdown Alabama Magazine will  keep you Updated on Brooks and the rest of the Tide’s targets.
