According to 247 Sports, Alabama long snapper Scott Meyer will be transferring to SEC rival Vanderbilt for the final two years of his collegiate career. Meyer who graduated earlier this month will be eligible to play immediately.
The former walk-on was Alabama’s go to long snapper for extra points and field goal attempts in 2017. 2018 though was a different story as he served behind Thomas Fletcher and saw his only on-field action against The Citadel in week 12.
Fletcher is now the only scholarship snapper on the roster along with freshman walk-on Jake Hall.
The crimson tide has now lost four scholarship players to the transfer portal in quarterback Jalen Hurts (Oklahoma), Kyriq McDonald (Cincinnati), Richi Petitbon (Illinois) and Layne Hatcher (Arkansas State).
