Megwa is a product of Nolan Catholic High school in Fort Worth, Texas,. Alabama is the 22nd Division 1 program to offer Megwa. Nolan Catholic’s head coach, David Beudin, gave Megwa some good advice before camping at Tuscaloosa, which played a role in the Texas product receiving his latest offer from Alabama.
“It is crazy,” Megwa said. “It is unbelievable. My coach just said go there and give it all I got. I will not let it get over my head though.”
Nick Saban informed Megwa of his offer after camp on Tuesday. Florida, Arkansas, LSU and Texas A&M are the other SEC teams, who have offered Megwa. Alabama’s offer also came with some, humbling advice from Saban, knowing multiple top-tier programs had already offered Megwa
“During my talk with coach Saban, he was just telling me to remain humble,” Megwa said.
Alabama has offered two running backs in the 2022 recruiting class. 23 2022 recruits now hold offers from Alabama. The success Alabama has continued to enjoy has Megwa and the other 22 Alabama targets intrigued.
Megwa said the Tide is a team that he always sees in the mix.
“Their continued success is great,” Megwa said. “It seems like they win the national championship every year.”
The Texas product stands at 6-0 and weighs 200 pounds. Megwa shows patience with the ball in his hands and knows how to wait until running lanes open up. Megwa’s explosive speed allows him to explode through those running lanes.
Alabama does not have a commitment in the 2022 recruiting class, which is expected with the recruits in this class having such a long time to consider their offers. Megwa’s offer list is expected to get much longer than it currently is and all of these teams will fight to get his signature in the future. Alabama coaches will look forward to building a relationship with Megwa.
