The Nike opening Finals will kickoff from Frisco, Texas, on Sunday and Alabama will have several commits and targets focused on putting on a great performance.
The Opening Finals will take place over four days and will give some of the top high school football players in the nation an opportunity to compete against one another. Players received invitations for this event by putting on a worthy performance at the Nike Opening Regional, which took place in several destinations over the span of four months. Quandarrius Robinson, Malachi Moore and Javon Baker will represent the Tide’s 2019 recruiting class in the 2019 Nike Opening Final. The Tide’s 5-star ATH commit, Drew Sanders, did receive an invite, but will not attend.
Alabama’s four commits will follow in the footsteps of a rich Opening Final alumni. Landon Collins, Derrick Henry, Ezekial Elliott, Jalen Ramsey and Laquon Treadwell all participated in the Nike Opening Regional during the Summer before their senior season. Robinson told Touchdown Alabama in March, having a chance to compete in the Nike Opening is something, he has always thought about.
“The Opening is something all the kids watch and want to be,” Robinson said. “It is a dream come true to compete at the Opening.”
Each participant at the Nike opening final will be tested in several performance drills, where they will receive a score afterward based on how they tested. Participants will also have the chance to compete against one another in one on one action, which is what Alabama commit, Malachi Moore, is looking forward to.
“I like the Opening a lot,” Moore said. “They put the elite players against other elite players.”

The conclusion of the camp will include an award ceremony, which will be given to the top players at the event. Alabama wideout commit, Javon Baker, was able to take home the wide receiver MVP award at the Nike Opening Regional in Atlanta. Baker also raved about the competition the Nike opening Regional provides.

The Opening Finals is also split into three sections: The Opening Rated Championship, Final 5 Lineman Challenge and the 7 on 7 championships. Moore and Baker will compete on the same squad during the 7 on 7 championships.
There are also several Crimson Tide targets expected to compete at the opening. Bryce Young, Kendall Milton, EJ Williams, Arik Gilbert, Darnell Washington and Justin Flowe will all be in action.
