Wilcoxson is a product of Stephenson High School in Decatur, Georgia, which is the same high school Alabama’s 2019 defensive back commit, Javier Morton, attends. Alabama, LSU, South Carolina, Tennessee, Marland, Clemson, Texas A&M, Georgia Tech, Florida and Ohio State rounded out Wilcoxson’s top 10. The Stephenson product said he released his top ten at this point because he is mostly done with his high school academic requirements.
“I am enrolling early and I am about done with high school classes,” Wilcoxson said. “I am trying to go ahead and figure out where I am going, so I can make sure they take the credits for when I start college classes.”
Along with having a teammate committed to Alabama, one of Wilcoxson’s closest friends, Latrell McCutchin, is also committed to Alabama. Wilcoxson considers his relationship with Alabama’s coaching staff to be in a good place at this point in his recruitment. The 2021 recruit said he has great respect for Nick Saban and Alabama’s defensive back coach, Karl Scott.
“Our relationship is great,” Wilcoxon said. “Coach (Karl) Scott is my guy. I love the dynasty Saban has built in Tuscaloosa. He has proven he is a dominant coach and a consistent winner.”
There is no specific timeframe set for when Wilcoxson will make his verbal commitment. The 2021 recruit expressed he will make his announcement when he feels it is the right time. However, Wilcoxson knows what he is looking for in a school and it starts with academics.
“I want to go to a school with a strong support system, who competes for Championships and Improved your skill level. I also want Program Stability. I want to know are the people here going to be here with me or are they leaving for other opportunities. I am also considering what type of players I am coming in with. Are they committed? Are they winners? Do we have the same goals?
Stephenson High School used Wilcoxson on both sides of the ball during his sophomore season. Wiilcoxson lined up in the backfield on offense in the wing back position and was able to use his speed to burst into the open field. On the defensive side of the ball, Wilcixson played both safety and cornerback. The 4-Star recruit stands at 6-2 and weighs 190 pounds.
Alabama looks to be a big player in the game for Wilcoxson’s commitment
