He is ready to carry the baton.
Dylan Moses came to the University of Alabama as a freakish athlete with strong intelligence in 2017, and now he is prepared to be the ringleader of a hungry defense. The former five-star from Baton Rouge, La., has made the necessary progressions throughout his career.
He began as an All-Freshman Team selection for the Southeastern Conference and then grew to being the team’s leader in tackles (86) and a Dick Butkus Award finalist last year.
Moses arrived on campus as an introvert, but he’s reached the point where he now speaks. In an interview with yours truly of Touchdown Alabama Magazine, he said he has embraced the idea of being more vocal.

“It’s not me yelling at guys,” Moses said on being vocal. “It’s more of me trying to understand them, trying to reason with them. Whether it is personal life stuff or football stuff, I want to be that guy they can come to because it’s more about personal relationships than football.”
Nick Saban, Moses’ head coach at Alabama, started Wednesday’s session of SEC Media Days on how important it is for this year’s group to be “team minded.” He mentioned how too much individual things took from the team and ultimately, it led to the Crimson Tide not finishing how it wanted to.
As Moses takes on this mindset, the Chuck Bednarik Award preseason guy looks to guide Alabama back to the College Football Playoff and win it all.
