2022 quarterback, Tanner Bailey, is getting his feet wet on the recruiting trail with multiple SEC teams targeting him.
Bailey is a product of Gordo High School in Gordo, Alabama. The Gordo product holds six Division 1 offers. At the moment, multiple schools are in play for the top spot in his recruitment.
“Visiting around this Summer, I really like LSU, Tennessee and Mississippi State,” Bailey said. “Going up to Clemson and camping up there was also really fun. They will be one of the top schools to.”
UAB, South Alabama and Southern Miss have also offered Bailey.

It is still relatively early in Bailey’s recruitment process, but he does know what he is looking for in a school. It all comes down to honesty with the 2022 prospect.
“I am currently looking at team style and where I fit,” Bailey said. “I am also looking at the coaching staffs and if they are telling me the truth and backing it up with something that is right.”
Gordo High School leaned on Bailey during his freshman season. Bailey checks in at 6-0 and 179 pounds. Many are expecting him to help lead Gordo to another successful season this year. On last season, Bailey showed his comfortableness in the pocket and his arm strength en route to a 9-1 regular season.
Unfortunately, Bailey and The Green Wave were eliminated in the third round of the AHSAA high school football playoffs by Providence Christian after a nice regular season. Bailey said he feels remaining humble will help him and his teammates focus on their goals this year.
“Our main goal is to win state,” Bailey said. “I think if we play together, don’t get the big head, remain humbled and stay grounded, we will be alright this season.”

UAB and South Alabama are the only in-state schools that have offered Bailey as of now. The Crimson Tide and Auburn have yet to extend an offer to Bailey, but it should not be long before they do as it will be vital to keep a talented quarterback like Bailey in the yellowhammer state.
However, Alabama has taken the steps to build a relationship with Bailey. Bailey expressed he has gotten close with Alabama’s offensive coordinator, Steve Sarkisian, and Alabama support staff member, Tino Sunseri.
Whichever school does get Bailey’s signature in the future, is getting a kid with some big dreams.
“It will be nice to start the first year and go somewhere I fit in at,” Bailey said. “I want to go on and put up some big numbers and maybe win the Heisman.”
