Georgia, Tennessee, Miami and Penn State rounded out Washington’s list. Washington originally announced a top 3 via Instagram, which included Miami, Georgia and Tennessee and later announced the Tide and Penn State were still in the mix.
At 6-8 and 261 pounds, Washington is regarded as one of the top tight end prospects in recent memory. Desert Pines assistant head coach, David Hill, said Washington has the potential to be one of the purest tight ends ever.
“We might witness some of the greatest tight end play from a pure tight end, being able to block and block in the C gap,” Hill told Touchdown Alabama. “He can take the top off the defense and create mismatches. He does not have to come off the field because he can not block. He is a complete tight end. He can run, he can block and he can catch. You can run your complete offense through him.”

The Tide will host Washington for an official visit on the weekend on Nov. 9, which is when Alabama will take on LSU in Tuscaloosa. Alabama’s tight end coach, Jeff Banks, has been persistent in his pursuit to get Washington to Tuscaloosa.
It will be interesting to see if the Tide will be able to add Washinton to their 20119 recruiting class.
