Coming this winter, HBO will debut a brand-new documentary on Alabama head coach Nick Saban and New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick titled “Belichick and Saban: The Art of Coaching”. The film was announced earlier today by Peter Nelson and, executive producer of HBO Sports.
The film will be done in partnership with NFL Films, as award winning director Ken Rodgers looks to tell the story behind the relationship between two of footballs most legendary coaches. With a run time of 90 minutes the two-coach’s layout their 40-year friendship along with sharing some of their philosophies and coaching experiences over the years.

“Bill Belichick and Nick Saban have earned their rightful place in the pantheon of greatest coaches ever, across all sports and this film intimately spotlights their woven history from Navy to Cleveland to now,” said Nelson in a press release.
“It will capture for the first time ever some of the most engaging and personal conversations held every year by the two most towering figures in the game today. We are excited to partner with NFL Films to tell this unique story of friendship and mentorship.”
Both Belichick and Saban’s success has coincided with each other’s since both coaches have won six championships in their respective leagues.
The film will premiere Dec. 10 at 8 pm CT on HBO. A trailer will also debut before and immediately after the season finale of HBO’s Hard Knocks on Tuesday.
