Too few peoples surprise, Alabama head coach Nick Saban has been named to the Dodd Trophy midseason watch list. Saban is one of 22 coaches selected to the list from seven different conferences andNotre Dame.
The Dodd Trophy is awarded to the head coach of a team who experiences success on the field while also stressing the importance of academics, leadership and integrity.
A panel of previous winners of the trophy, national media, a member of the Dodd family and College Football Hall of Fame members will all select a list of finalists at the end of the 2019 season. The winner will be announced in Atlanta during bowl week at the College Football Playoff Semifinal in the Chick fil-A Peach Bowl.

“The Dodd Trophy is truly different from other coach of the year awards, and this list really highlights the level of excellence that it takes to be considered for it,” said Gary Stokan, Peach Bowl, Inc.
