In Alabama’s push for the College Football Playoff, it has a rivalry game on Saturday versus Tennessee at Bryant-Denny Stadium. While the Crimson Tide has won the last 12 meetings against the program from Neyland Stadium, the Volunteers are ready to present a challenge.

On Friday’s airing of In My Own Words, yours truly of Touchdown Alabama Magazine previewed the Vols with Trey Wallace of Fox Sports in Knoxville, Tenn. Per Wallace, local reporters for the school are not expecting a win but a close game would do wonders for it.
Inside the preview, Wallace breaks down the impact players for Tennesseee.
Following the conversation with Wallace, Justin Smith of TDA Magazine joined the show to discuss recruiting for the 2020 class.
As TDA’s lead scouting and recruiting analyst, Smith touched on the importance of the Tide landing four-star defensive tackle, Jamil Burroughs.
Of the 23 commitments in the class, Bryce Young earned his fifth star as a dual threat quarterback and Smith said Young ‘felt good’ about flipping his commitment from Southern California to Alabama.
Listed below is the detailed interview with Smith on recruiting.
In the “Final Word” segment, I dive into why Nick Saban and the Tide need to replace Skyler DeLong with Ty Perine at punter. Despite him being highly recruited, DeLong has averaged below 40 yards per punt in his two seasons. According to Caleb Ross, Perine’s head coach at Prattville (Ala.) High School, the freshman walk-on has an ‘exceptionally strong’ leg.
Listed below is my stance on why the Tide should go to Perine.
