While most of Alabama’s early enrollees will enroll into the University of Alabama in January, Jahquez Robinson, a 4-Star defensive back, will enroll on Wednesday, after signing his National Letter of Intent, according to Robinson’s father, Frank Robinson.
Jahquez shut down his recruitment in October and locked in with the Tide. He is one of the Tide’s three defensive back commits, who will enroll early. Ronald Williams and Malachi Moore are expected to enroll in January.
The 4-star recruit said he shut down his recruitment because he felt it was time to.
“I just felt that is where I wanted to be and once I did, I did not second guess it,” Robinson said. “I had that feeling every day. I woke up and I knew it was time for me to lock all the way in.”
Alabama hosted Robinson for an official visit in November. The closeness of Alabama’s locker room stood out to Robinson doing his official.
“They were a lot tighter than I thought they would be,” Robinson said. “I thought they were going to be just individuals, but they are close. They have a real bond and they say they built it in practice and they practice hard. They told me practice is usually harder than the game.”
Alabama had a couple of commits, who enroll in December last season, who were able to participate in bowl practice when the Tide were in Tuscaloosa. Robinson is expected to do the same.
