Alabama wide receiver and return man Jaylen Waddle was named to the FWAA All-American First-Team on Thursday. It is the second time Waddle has been named to an All-American first team as he was named to the Sporting News’ first-team earlier this week.
The sophomore was named the 2019 SEC Special Teams Player of the Year as he led the country in punt return average with 24.9 yards per return and had a total of 19 returns for 474 yards and a single score.
Waddle also returned four kickoffs in 2019 for 152 yards and a touchdown that came against Auburn in the Iron Bowl.
On the season Waddle also 32 catches for 553 yards and six touchdowns as a receiver for Alabama’s offense.
He was also named to the Associated Press’ All-American Second-Team along with teammates Jedrick Wills and DeVonta Smith. Defensive backs Trevon Diggs and Xavier McKinney were named to the third team
