Has Alabama made things official with d-line coach Freddie Roach?

Things have sure gotten interesting in the last couple of hours when it comes to Alabama’s defensive line coaching position.

Over the weekend it was reported by Matt Zenitz of AL.com, that Alabama’s defensive line coach from the 2019-20 season, Brian Baker, would be transitioning to an off the field position. Zenitz also reported that Ole Miss defensive line coach Freddie Roach would be meeting with the Crimson Tide on Monday.

Since then there has been radio silence on whether an official deal was made or not. But later Monday afternoon things got a little interesting.

In a picture released via Twitter from Memphis Academy Health and Sciences football coach Cedric Miller, Roach was seen next to him and Miller but was also wearing an Alabama shirt in the photo.

But within the tweet, Miller addressed Roach as “Alabama Crimson Tide Coach Freddie Roach”.

Although the university has not confirmed the news, it is extremely likely that Roach will be heading up the defensive line come next season. Especially if he is already on the recruiting trail for the Crimson Tide.
