Alabama 2020 4-Star signees, Kristian Story and Jah-Marien Latham, will face off in the AHSAA 1-A State Championship when the Lanett Panthers take on the Pickens County Tornadoes.
Story and the Panthers defeated Jacksonville Christian, 70-61 Monday to advance to the title game, while Pickens County picked up a win over Francis Marion.
Lanett will be going for their second basketball title with Story on their roster. This is the second time in school history, that the Panthers have made it to the state championship in both basketball and football. Story was on Lanett’s football and basketball team in 2017-2018 when the Panthers first did it.
Latham will seek his first-ever basketball title with Pickens County. The Tornadoes have lean on the future defensive tackle and his abilities down low this season. In their semi-final win, he pulled down six rebounds and added six points.
The Panthers and Tornadoes will play Thursday at 5:45 p.m. at the BJCC Arena in Birmingham, Alabama.
