Quandarrius Robinson is striving to get better at ‘everything’

Quandarrius Robinson will enroll into the University of Alabama this summer and wants to make sure all parts of his game are as sharp as possible before he officially steps foot on campus.

Robinson, who garners a 5-Star rating from Touchdown Alabama, signed his National Letter of Intent to the University of Alabama in December. The 5-Star recruit is one of the four outside linebackers Alabama signed in the 2020 recruiting class. After enrolling 13 recruits in January, Robinson and the rest of Alabama’s 2020 recruiting class are set to enroll on May 25, which is a date, that could get pushed back due to concerns over the spread of COVID-19.

The Global pandemic caused by the coronavirus is impacting the entire sports’ world. Robinson like many other Division 1 football athletes, is using this time to get better. The Jackson Olin product said Alabama’s new strength and conditioning staff has given him some work out information and he is putting it to good use.

“I have my new workout package from the new coaches,” Robinson said. “I have kind of been leaning on that.”

Alabama hired David Ballou and Matt Rhea to head its strength and conditioning program in March after Scott Cochran departed. The duo is currently making sure Alabama’s summer enrollees and its current players are staying in shape during this time. Although Robinson has not talk face to face with Ballou and Rhea yet, he feels they are a good fit for Alabama.

“I have looked them up,” Robinson said. “I was curious about who they were and where they come from. From the looks of it, they seem to be no different from coach Cochran in terms of helping you get stronger.”

Robinson missed a good portion of his senior season due to a lower-body injury. Fortunately, he is back healthy and ready to compete as he participated in the All-American Bowl in January. At the moment, Robinson is working on multiple parts of his game.

“I am still working on everything,” Robinson added. “I just feel I can improve on everything, just to get better at being an overall football player and hopefully it will help me in college, transferring my high school attributes to the next level.”

As Robinson continues to strive to get better, he has some goals in mind for his freshman season.

“School wise, I want to get my GPA as high as I can early on,” Robinson said. “On the field, I want to soak up as much information as I can, so I will not stop myself from playing. I need to focus on the mental part on the field and in the classroom, I want to get that high GPA and continue it throughout my college career.”

Alabama’s starting outside linebackers from last season, Anfernee Jennings and Terrell Lewis, have officially moved on as they both have graduated and plan to hear their names called at this years’ NFL Draft. This leaves the door open for a freshman linebacker like Robinson to work themselves in the rotation.
