4-Star OT, Tyler Booker, reacts to Alabama offer

Alabama football continues to turn some of its attention to the 2022 recruiting class as their latest offer goes out to 4-Star offensive tackle, Tyler Booker.

Booker played his sophomore season at IMG Academy but is originally from New Haven, Connecticut. The Connecticut native holds more than 20 Division 1 football offers. Booker said he had been working towards garnering interest from top tier programs like Alabama.

“I got on the phone with coach (Charles) Huff and he told me they really liked my game and my character because my coaches had told them nothing but good things about me,” Booker said. “He told me I could possibly be a good fit at Alabama. I felt amazing when he told me they offered me. It was such a good feeling because I had been working towards getting to a standard, where I would be offered by a program like Alabama.”

Alabama has had respect from Booker for several years. The Nick Saban Football Camp has hosted the rising junior in the past, which makes an Alabama offer that much special for him.

“Alabama is such a great school,” Booker said. “It is hard to describe how great Alabama is because they do everything really. The way Alabama runs their program is like an NFL model. It seems like an easy transition from Alabama to the NFL.”

Booker is ranked as high as the No. 1 offensive tackle in the 2022 recruiting class on some recruiting sites. At 6-5 and 300 pounds, he moves well laterally and shows his strength in the trenches. IMG Academy used him on both sides of the ball as a sophomore and plans to use him even more on the defensive side of the ball this upcoming season.

“Overall, I want to get back to being comfortable on the defensive side of the ball as I will be playing on the defensive line this season,” Booker said. “I want to get back to being able to play freely, where everything is just muscle memory.”

The Tide’s 2022 recruiting class only has one pledge in 4-Star defensive end, Jeremiah Alexander. Alabama’s coaching staff is continuing to build relationships with 2022 prospects and Booker looks to be one of their more intriguing targets.
