“Today, I am blessed to share that I will be continuing my academic & athletic journey at the University of Maryland,” read Tagovailoa’s post. “I’m grateful to Coach Locksley & the staff for giving me this opportunity. I can’t wait to get to College Park. God bless & Go Terps!”
After appearing in five games as a freshman the younger brother of NFL quarterback Tua Tagovailoa is headed north to unite with former Alabama offensive coordinator Mike Locksley who coached his older brother for one season with the Crimson Tide.
Over the past few seasons Alabama’s quarterbacks room was compiling some stiff competition in the form of redshirt junior Mac Jones, redshirt sophomore Paul Tyson and incoming five star freshman Bryce Young.
In his lone season at Alabama, Tagovailoa completed 9/12 of his passes with a completion percentage of 75 percent and threw for 100 total yards and one touchdown which came against Western Carolina.
This post will be updated.
