REPORT: Alabama has at least five players to test positive for coronavirus

The NCAA cleared student-athletes in football, men’s basketball and women’s basketball to return to campus on June 1 and for the Southeastern Conference, in-person voluntary workouts are scheduled for next Monday.

However, the coronavirus pandemic has appeared to have affected Alabama football. 

Per a report from BamaInsider (Rivals network), at least five Crimson Tide players have tested positive for the virus.

Nothing has been released from the university on the situation. 

In Tuscaloosa County, there has been a report of 836 confirmed cases of COVID-19 – including 383 cases of which occurred in the last 14 days.

Alabama is scheduled to face the University of Southern California on Sept. 5 at AT&T Stadium (Arlington, Texas) to open the regular season.
