2021 5-Star offensive lineman, JC Latham, announced his commitment to Alabama Friday.

Latham currently plays for IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida. Alabama’s staff has picked up their push for the 300-pound lineman over the last couple of weeks as they have continued to virtually recruit some of their top targets via Zoom calls and FaceTime. In December, Latham told Touchdown Alabama, there was not much contact between him and Alabama.
“They like E-Mail me a lot and invite me to games, talks to my dad and all,” Latham said. “It is like they always talk to everyone around me and not really me.”
If Alabama lands 5-Star OL, JC Latham, it will be a result of a hard push by the Tide over the last couple of months.

At the same time, Ohio State began to surge in Latham’s recruitment. However, he was still interested in Alabama.
The Tide’s push as of late has paid off as they lock up a commitment from Latham, gaining their seventh verbal commit in the 2021 recruiting class and their first offensive lineman commit. The offensive line group is a priority for Alabama in the 2021 recruiting cycle with the number of linemen Alabama is expected to lose at the end of this upcoming season.
At 6-6 and 305 pounds, Latham carries his weight well. His mobility allows him to move laterally with great effectiveness and can get to the second level when running blocking. Playing for IMG Academy will only benefit Latham moving forward as he will continue to play against some of the top prospects across the country.
The last IMG Academy offensive lineman to sign with the Tide is Evan Neal.
Alabama is far from done with the offensive line group in the 2021 class. The Brockermyer twins remain two of Alabama’s top linemen targets among with.
