Brockermeyer twins taking different approach to senior season

Blake Brockermeyer, the father of highly touted 2021 offensive linemen, Tommy and James Brockermeyer, is taking a step away from college football this season as he is set to coach at All Saints Episcopal School as their offensive line coach this upcoming season, where he will get the opportunity to coach both of his sons during their senior season.

Blake Brockermeyer had previously been a part of SMU’s football support staff. This decision comes with the uncertainty surrounding football at all levels.

“There is so much uncertainty about even playing football in the fall,” Blake Brockermeyer said. “I just figured there was a great chance the support staff would get let go first if something was to happen. It also gives me an opportunity to coach my kids for a year. I think it is a great opportunity and I am excited to do it.”

As Tommy and James prepare for their senior season of football, they are also working through their recruitment, which could end soon. They both have their top schools’ list cut down to LSU, Auburn, Alabama and Texas. Blake Brockermeyer said he feels a decision is on the horizon.
