The Crimson Tide train is steaming down the tracks and shows no signs of cooling off with the Tide picking up a commitment from 2021 4-Star linebacker, Kendrick Blackshire Tuesday.
Blackshire is a product of Duncanville High School in Duncanville, Texas. The 4-Star recruit has been getting recruited by the Tide since 2018 and has been one of their top 2021 targets throughout his recruitment. His last visit to Tuscaloosa was June of 2019.
The Texas product chose Alabama over LSU and Texas A&M, who was listed in a top-three Blackshire released recently. A commitment was expected to come from Blackshire on July 15 or soon after, but he decided to move up his commitment date in celebration of his grandmother’s birthday Tuesday.
A huge sophomore season is what really got Blackshire’s recruitment rolling. The 6-2 230-pounder showed off his unique athletic ability by taking great angles in pursuit of the football and by punishing the ball carriers when he got to it as a sophomore. Unfortunately, Blackshire was unable to play during his junior season due to an ACL injury.
