With a bit of a surprising move to some, former Alabama wide receiver Henry Ruggs was the first receiver taken off the board in the 2020 NFL Draft.
Leading up to the draft all of the conversation revolved around his teammate Jerry Jeudy and Oklahoma wide out Ceedee Lamb. But when taking a closer look, it is obvious as to why some would value Ruggs as the best receiver in the draft.
And the Las Vegas Raiders are one of the teams who thought so, and showed it in the form of a fully guaranteed contract.
The #Raiders have agreed to terms with rookie No. 12 pick WR Henry Ruggs and he’s expected to sign in a few days, source said. His four-year, fully guaranteed deal is worth $16.67M with a fifth-year option.

Although things are not quite official, the details of the expected deal are for a total of $16.67 million over four years with a fifth year option.
In 2019 the Raiders posted rather average receiving numbers when compared to other NFL receiving cores. They finished in the middle of the pack in yards per reception, total yards and touchdowns as the team did not have a true number one or home run hitting receiver.
Ruggs will hopefully solve both of those issues as he ran the fastest forty yard dash in his draft class with a 4.27 and displayed tremendous plays while catching passes against SEC defenses.
