When things did not go right at the University of Georgia, Justin Fields found a new home.
He became a superstar at Ohio State last season, leading the Buckeyes to a Big Ten Championship and the College Football Playoff. Despite it coming up short to Clemson in a semifinal matchup, Fields had everything set on his team winning a national championship in the fall.
The Big Ten took the opportunity away from him by canceling its season — due to Coronavirus concerns — however, the native Georgian is not backing down quietly. After a 2019 campaign that witnessed him toss for 3,273 yards and 41 touchdowns, Fields has create a petition that requests the Big Ten reinstates college football for 2020.
Within the petition, he states the conference should allow teams/players the opportunity to play or opt out without a penalty or repercussion.
He dove into why football is important to the players and crafted the passion statement: “Don’t let our hard work and sacrifice be in vain. #LetUsPlay!”

Fields, along with Trevor Lawrence (Clemson), Kyle Hill (Mississippi State) and Najee Harris (Alabama), has been at the forefront of the #WeWantToPlay movement in college football.
The 6-foot-3, 225-pounder was the Big Ten’s Quarterback of the Year, Big Ten Offensive Player of the Year, first-team All-Big Ten and a Heisman Trophy finalist for his efforts in 2019.
