On Saturday, the University of Alabama football program held its final scrimmage of preseason camp at Bryant-Denny Stadium.

Upon the conclusion of the exhibition, Nick Saban took the podium to address local reporters via Zoom and was very pleased with how the Crimson Tide performed on offense. While the defense is getting better, he wants to see more communication and players doing multiple things well. When it comes to the injury front, Saban had one update on Christian Barmore.

The redshirt sophomore suffered a minor knee injury, but Saban said it is not serious.

“He has certainly been one of our best pass rushers,” Saban said of Barmore. “He will be out for a few days, but it is nothing significant. He has done really well, but he did not work today.”

A native of Philadelphia, Pa., Barmore collected 26 tackles, six tackles for loss, two sacks, five quarterback hurries and two pass breakups through 12 games in 2019. Coach Saban wants to see the entire defensive line excel at both stopping the run and pressure quarterbacks.

With the scrimmage ending fall camp, Barmore and the Tide now prepare for the Missouri Tigers.
