On Wednesday it was announced that Alabama offensive lineman Landon Dickerson has been named to the Rimington Trophy Watch List.
Dickerson joins a group of 90 other student-athletes across the country. He is looking to join the likes of Barrett Jones (2012) and Ryan Kelly (2015) who are the only two former members of the Crimson Tide to take home the trophy.
Dickerson is being nominated for his stellar play at center dating back to the 2019 season where he started nine games at the position and four other games at right guard. Between the two spots, he graded out at nearly 88 percent a season ago and allowed just one sack and four quarterback hurries as a junior.
He’s missed just four assignments in a total of 727 snaps putting him at a 99.4 percent success rate for last season.
The Rimington Trophy has been presented annually since 200 to the most outstanding center in the NCAA’s Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS). The award is named in honor of former Nebraska center Dave Rimington, who was a consensus first-team All-America center at the University of Nebraska in 1981 and 1982.
