Alabama football picked up its fifth win of the season with a 48-17 victory over the Tennessee Volunteers Saturday in Neyland Stadium.
This is the Crimson Tide’s 14th straight win over the Vols in the all-time series.
This win comes as a result of another great outing for Alabama on the offensive side of the football. Mac Jones lead the Tide’s offense with 387 yards on 25 completions. Najee Harris chipped in with an impressive three-touchdown performance on the ground. John Metchie III led Alabama’s receivers with 7 receptions for 151 yards.
The game got off to an unfortunate start for Alabama as its starting wide receiver, Jaylen Waddle was injured on the opening kick-off. Nick Saban expressed at halftime that Waddle was out for the year.

Despite losing one of the best wide receivers in the nation, it did not take long for Alabama’s offense to get control of the game. A one-yard touchdown run by Harris in the first quarter put Alabama up 7-0. Harris would punch in another touchdown from two yards out while Jones and Brian Robinson added rushing touchdowns on their own to give the Tide a 28-10 lead going into halftime.
Alabama’s defense would get the Crimson Tide’s scoring going in the second half with a 28-yard fumble return by true-freshman, Malachi Moore. Harris punched in another score to put Alabama up 42-10. A pair of Will Reichard field goals in the second half gave Alabama a commanding 48-17 lead.
The Tide’s defense was able to limit Jarret Guarantano to 162 yards through the air. However, the Vols were able to punch in two passing scores.
Christian Harris lead Alabama in tackles with nine. Dylan Moses finished the game with six tackles while Patrick Surtain had five. Moore’s forced fumble was the Tide’s lone turnover.
Alabama will host Mississippi State next week at Bryant Denny-Stadium. Kickoff is set for 6 p.m. CDT.
