For the second time, this season Alabama defensive back Malachi Moore has been named the SEC Freshman of the Week.
This comes after Moore’s strong performance against Mississippi State last weekend where the Crimson Tide was able to shutout the Bulldogs.
Moore previously received the honor for his game against Texas A&M where he had six tackles, two pass deflections and an interception.
Below is Moore’s production from the Mississippi State game:
- The first-year defensive back played a key role in shutting out Mississippi State’s high-powered offense
- Made a team-high eight tackles, including one for loss (-2 yards), while adding two pass breakups
- Joined his teammates in forcing State into a 28-of-48 night for just 163 yards passing with two interceptions
