Alabama’s 2021 4-Star quarterback commit, Jalen Milroe put up a masterful performance Thursday to help Tompkins High School secure a 24-19 win over Katy, ending their 75-game district winning streak.

Milroe completed 15 of 21 passes for 211 yards and three touchdowns in the win. This was Tompkins’ sixth win of the season as they remain unbeaten. Katy’s last district loss was in November of 2008 when Milroe was in kindergarten.

All three of Milroe’s touchdown passes went to Josh McMillan. The two connected on touchdowns of 18-yards, 20 yards and 30 yards. Although Milroe has the ability to make plays with his feet, it was his arm that help lead the way for the Falcons, which is something Tompkins head coach Todd McVey told Touchdown Alabama, Milroe does consistently.

“Jalen is not just looking to run, he is looking to extend the play” McVey said. “You watch Patrick Mahomes in Kansas City and (Lamar) Jackson and that is what they are trying to do, extend plays with their feet to throw. I think that it is good that he is learning this now. I know as a young guy he wants to take off at times, but he is scanning the field to the very last second.”

The Alabama commit biggest pass completion of the night was a 50-yard bomb.
