Alabama players should “Griddy dance” after each touchdown scored against LSU

When the clock hit all zeros at Bryant-Denny Stadium last year, Ed Orgeron and the LSU Tigers met at midfield for a huge celebration after a 46-41 victory.

Upon reaching the Crimson Tide’s logo, Orgeron said BDS would belong to LSU from here on out.

Despite the institution of class from Paul W. “Bear” Bryant and Nick Saban’s way of handling things with character, Orgeron’s assortment of gestures may have thrown the lesson out for this week. If the Tigers taunted Alabama fans and 2020 recruits and Orgeron dropped “F-bombs” in the locker room, the student-athletes for the Tide should “Griddy dance” all over Tiger Stadium.

To provide a history lesson, the Griddy is a dance that originated in New Orleans, La.

Before players such as Justin Jefferson (former LSU receiver) made it popular, Allen “Griddy” Davis came up with the dance three years ago in the weight room at Landry Walker High School.

According to an article from Complex, Davis said his friend was just recording him going crazy.

It was not called “The Griddy” at the time, but it was something to hype up his teammates.

Davis saw it as a regular dance, however, fans and collegiate athletes have made it an internet sensation.

Jefferson brought the dance to the big screen last season in LSU’s opener against Texas.

While players in the National Football League are doing it too, Jerry Jeudy (former Alabama receiver) performed the dance a few times for the Crimson Tide in 2019. Since LSU took something from Alabama, it’s only fair for the Tide to take something from the Tigers.

Per sources, yours truly of Touchdown Alabama Magazine has learned that Nick Saban has given Steve Sarkisian at offensive coordinator the green light to run the score up. This may also be an opportunity for players to nudge Saban into allow them to hit the Griddy as often as possible, especially with him understanding the disrespect LSU showed in Tuscaloosa just a season ago.

Tide fans, do you see players hitting the Griddy all game versus LSU?

On Saturday, both teams will battle it out on the field.
