Ga’Quincy McKinstry was named the AHSAA 6A State Championship MVP for his performance in Pinson Valley’s win over Spanish Fort Friday in Bryant-Denny Stadium.

Pinson Valley High School secured their third state championship in four years with the victory. McKinstry has been a part of all three of those teams. This is the first time that he has received the MVP award.
McKinstry finished the game with five receptions for 89 yards and one touchdown.
The Alabama commit delivered the play of the game in the fourth quarter. With the Indians down 13-10 with 9:15 left in the game, McKinstry pulled in a 52-yard reception to give Pinson Valley a 17-13 lead over Spanish Fort.

The Indians extended their lead to 23-13 late in the fourth.
Alabama is expected to get a signature from McKinstry Dec. 16, and he plans to enroll early. Alabama’s staff plans to play him at defensive back, but wide receiver is not out of the question.
