Coming off of a one-sided victory over the LSU Tigers last Saturday, the Alabama coaching staff named 10 Players of the Week from the impressive performance.
The list contained five offensive players, three defensive players and two players from special teams.
Those on offense included offensive lineman Landon Dickerson, running back Najee Harris, quarterback Mac Jones, offensive lineman Alex Leatherwood and wide receiver DeVonta Smith.
The players named on defense were linebackers Christopher Allen and Will Anderson along with defensive back Patrick Surtain.
On special teams, linebacker Ale Kaho and kicker Will Reichard were the ones to be recognized.
OFFENSE
Landon Dickerson
- Did not allow a sack or a quarterback hurry as Mac Jones completed 20-of-28 passes for 385 yards and four touchdowns
- Cleared a path for Najee Harris to rush for 145 yards and three touchdowns
- Finished at 100 percent on his assignments and did not commit a penalty
Najee Harris
- Recorded his 11th career 100-plus yard rushing game with 145 yards on 21 carries
- Averaged 6.9 yards per carry for the night
- Added three touchdowns to put him at 40 for his career, making him one of only four running backs in Alabama history to record 40 scores
Mac Jones
- Continued his steady play with a 20-of-28 night for 385 yards and four touchdowns
- Connected for scores from 24, 65, 61 and 20 yards out
- Averaged 19.3 yards per completion with a long of 65
Alex Leatherwood
- Anchored the Crimson Tide offensive line in a 55-17 win at LSU
- Alabama’s offensive front controlled the line of scrimmage as the Tide accounted for 650 yards of total offense, including 265 yards rushing and 385 through the air
- Helped UA average 6.2 yards per rush and 9.0 yards per play overall
DeVonta Smith
- Torched the LSU defense for a second consecutive season
- Racked up 231 yards and three touchdowns on eight receptions
- Averaged a whopping 28.9 yards per catch with touchdowns of 65, 61 and 20 yards
- Marked his fourth career 200-plus yard game to make him Alabama’s all-time leader in that category
- Not has 11 career 100-plus yard receiving performance, the third-most in UA records
DEFENSE
Christopher Allen
- Continued his steady play as he spotted the stat sheet in his return to Baton Rouge
- Forced an LSU fumble, ripping the ball out of the receiver’s hands in the middle of a tackle
- Added three tackles, including one for loss (-2 yards) to go with a quarterback hurry
Will Anderson Jr.
- Had a huge game against the Tigers, tying for the team lead in tackles with eight
- Also recorded a career-high and team-leading two sacks (-9 yards)
Patrick Surtain II
- Broke up one pass on the night as the Tigers avoided his side of the field
- Helped the Alabama secondary limit LSU to only 254 yards through the air on 25-of-45 passing
SPECIAL TEAMS
Ale Kaho
- Made a huge stop on kickoff coverage late in the game
- Helped the Tide kickoff unit limit the Tigers to only 54 yards
Will Reichard
- Perfect on nine total scoring kicks for the day
- Made two field goals from 30 and 34 yards out
- Added seven made PATs in as many attempts
