UPDATED: Mac Jones has been named a semifinalist for the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award.
This is the third award he’s been named a candidate for, joining Davey O’Brien and Maxwell awards. The duo of Landon Dickerson and Alex Leatherwood on the offensive line were both selected as semifinalist for the Outland Trophy.
We are at the moment in the college football season where organizations are announcing candidates for awards.
At the University of Alabama, Nick Saban and the Crimson Tide are undefeated (9-0) and have clinched a berth in the Southeastern Conference Championship Game. As it prepares for Arkansas on Saturday and continues its journey toward a national championship, Alabama has a few student-athletes that have been selected as semifinalists for national honors.

According to the Maxwell Football Club, who presents the Maxwell Award and Chuck Bednarik Award, the trio of Mac Jones, DeVonta Smith and Najee Harris are semifinalists for the Maxwell honor.
Patrick Surtain II has been named to the Bednarik, Jim Thorpe and Lott IMPACT list.
Harris represents the Tide for the Doak Walker Award, while Jones is on the Davey O’Brien Award list.
Dylan Moses, a senior, has been named to IMPACT Trophy list. Smith is a semifinalist for the Fred Biletnikoff Award, and Will Reichard has been nameda candidate for the Lou Groza honor. On last week, Christian Harris was chosen as semifinalist for the Dick Butkus Award — which goes to the best linebacker in college football.
