5-Star OL JC Latham signs with the Alabama Crimson Tide

Alabama 5-Star Ol commit JC Latham talking Alabama football and more

Alabama’s 5-Star offensive lineman, JC Latham kept his commitment to the Tide and signed his National Letter of Intent with the Alabama Crimson Tide Wednesday.

Latham is Alabama’s highest-rated recruit in the 2021 recruiting class, according to Touchdown Alabama. He chose Alabama over Ohio State and others. The 5-Star told Touchdown Alabama he decided to commit to Alabama because of the love they showed him.

“Looking back at it, I saw that they have put multiple offensive linemen in the NFL over the last eight years,” Latham said. “They are going to have one this year, and they are going to have another one next year. That definitely stood out. As soon as Jedrick Wills was drafted, I got a call, and I did not know who it was. It was Nick Saban. He was telling me you see what we are doing and what we are producing. We want you to be that guy for us. I felt love the moment that happened.”

The Alabama signee comes in at 6-foot-6 and 305 pounds. He carries his weight really well, IMG Academy head football coach Bobby Acosta said he feels Latham’s athletic ability separates him from other offensive linemen.

“He is very long,” Acosta said. “He is strong, fast and I tell people you can put him in the backfield because he has that agility. He is a true left tackle, which should be your best offensive lineman. I think his athletic ability is great. His agility is great and he has a high football IQ. He understands protections, understands calls and I am excited to be his coach this year.”
