On Wednesday it was announced that Alabama quarterback Mac Jones had been selected as one of the finalists for the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award.

Jones joins a group of five total quarterbacks who are up for the award which include, Florida’s Kyle Trask, Notre Dame’s Ian Book, Clemson’s Trevor Lawrence and Ohio State’s Justin Fields.

In 2020 Jones has been dominant throughout the 10 game SEC schedule as he’s thrown for 3,321 yards, 27 touchdowns and completed 76% of his passes. He’s also positioned Alabama to a 10-0 record which won the SEC West and placed them in Saturday’s championship game against the Gators.

The award is handed out annually to the top upperclassman quarterback scheduled to graduate with their class.
