Kendrick Blackshire made it official with Alabama football by signing his National Letter of Intent with the Crimson Tide Wednesday.
Blackshire verbally committed to Alabama over Texas A&M, LSU and others. He plans to enroll at the University of Alabama in January as an early enrollee. The Texas product is one of the three inside linebacker prospects, who was verbally committed to Alabama before National Signing Day.
After suffering an ACL injury as a junior, Blackshire looks to be back to 100 percent. He has played his entire senior season for Duncanville High School.
The Alabama signee possessed a massive frame at 6-2 and 250 pounds. He is built like a tank and tackles with great force. Blackshire moves laterally effectively and closes on the football with good speed.
However, there are concerns that his naturally-bulky frame could cause some mobility issues. This problem can be avoided under Alabama’s new strength and conditioning program.
