Ferguson is a product of Peach County High School in Fort Valley, Georgia. He chose Alabama over Georgia and others. The 4-Star recruit told Touchdown Alabama his relationship with Alabama’s coaching staff played a huge role in his decision.

“I have a great relationship with Alabama’s coaching staff, coach (Kyle) Flood, (Nick) Saban, coach (Charles) Kelly and everyone just because of how they stayed in contact,” Ferguson added. “The contact was not like how every other offensive line coach and a recruiter will stay in contact with you. Their success tells a lot about the coaches and everyone involved there.”

As a senior, Ferguson played on both sides of the football for the Peach County Trojans. This allowed him to show his agility and his ability to move quickly in space. The Trojans lined Ferguson up at tackle for most of the season. He has played guard and tackle throughout his high school career.

Chad Campbell, the head football coach at Peach County High School, said Ferguson can play all positions across the offensive line.

“They are getting a great kid first off,” Campbell said. “He is mature. On the field, he is just a physically gifted lineman, can play all three positions up there. He has a very high football IQ to go along with his good work ethic. Terrence is a student of the game and is just a well-rounded student-athlete.”
