On Thursday night it was announced on ESPN the Alabama quarterback Mac Jones and wide receiver DeVonta Smith have been named Heisman Trophy finalists.

The two nominees from the Crimson Tide will be joined by Clemson quarterback Trevor Lawrence and Florida quarterback Kyle Trask in the top four.

This is the second season in a row where a school has had multiple student-athletes named as finalists after Justin Fields and Chase Young of Ohio State were in New York in 2019.

Jones is currently second in the country in passing yards with 3,739, third in passing touchdowns with 32 and has a completion percentage of 76.5.

Smith has had a stellar season at receiver for the Crimson Tide as he has caught 98 passes for 1,511 yards and 17 touchdowns.

Alabama running back Najee Harris also finished fifth in the Heisman Trophy voting, narrowly giving the Crimson Tide three finalists.

The Heisman Trophy will be announced on Tuesday, Jan. 5 at 7:00 p.m. ET on ESPN.
