All the work he put in over the spring and summer has made him a big time name.
Alabama football fans saw the potential of Christian Barmore in 2019.

The talented defensive lineman from Philadelphia (Pa.) made eye-popping plays in limited action. His energy and tenacity on the field brought something different to the Crimson Tide up front; however, he needed to become a little more disciplined. The raw potential as a redshirt freshman molded into him becoming a refined interior pass rusher. Through 11 games, the sophomore has elevated himself to being a first-team All-SEC selection. Listed at 6-foot-5 and 310 pounds, Barmore recorded 27 tackles, 6.5 tackles for loss, six sacks, three pass breakups, six quarterback pressures and three forced fumbles. Five of his six sacks came in matchups against Georgia, Auburn, LSU and Arkansas — including two sacks versus the Razorbacks in a 52-3 win for the Tide.
After a slow start, Barmore helped Alabama equal its sack output from last season (32) on an average of nearly three a game.
Despite facing an explosive Florida team in the Southeastern Conference title game, he forced a fumble and assisted a defensive front that totaled five sacks, seven tackles for loss and four forced fumbles. Alabama even had a few situations in the third quarter where it was able to get off the field on third down. Barmore is going to continue to get better and with the opportunity he has to anchor the defensive line next season, he may very well be back for his junior campaign. He comes in a strong lineage of disruptive playmakers, and he is starting to tap into how good he can truly be. This season was great for him, but Barmore is looking forward to creating frustration versus Notre Dame in the Rose Bowl (College Football Playoff semifinal) on Jan. 1, 2021.
