During Alabama’s media availability on Monday, head coach Nick Saban gave another update on wide receiver Jaylen Waddle.

Although the speedy wide receiver has already missed a large chunk of the season Waddle is still not quite ready to be back on the practice field. But Saban did note that Waddle’s rehab is progressing well and is still working to get back.

“Jaylen’s rehab is coming along. He’s doing dry-land running, still working to try to get back,” Saban said. “But he is making progress. We’re happy to see him be able to at least go out there and do some running and do some things, be he’s not back in practice yet.”

Waddle suffered an ankle injury against Tennessee early in the year and Alabama has been encouraged that he would have a chance to possibly return for the playoff this season.

“We’re very encouraged,” Saban said back in November. “Everybody thinks he’s doing really, really well. He’s had a great attitude about it and he’s going to work hard and he told me that he wants to try to come back and play, but we’re certainly not going to let that happen until he’s fully 100 percent healthy.”
