It has been a great night for the University of Alabama football program.
With the annual College Football Awards on ESPN, the group of Mac Jones, DeVonta Smith, Najee Harris, Alex Leatherwood, Landon Dickerson and Steve Sarkisian (offensive coordinator) have all won individual honors.
Alabama winners at College Football Awards
-Mac Jones: Johnny Unitas Golden Arm, Davey O’Brien
-Najee Harris: Doak Walker
-DeVonta Smith: Biletnikoff, Walter Camp Player of the Year, Maxwell Award
-Alex Leatherwood: Outland Trophy
-Landon Dickerson: Rimington Trophy
-Steve Sarkisian: Broyles Award
On top of this, the Crimson Tide has five Unanimous All-Americans on its roster.
According to the Walter Camp Football Foundation (WCFF), the lineup of Jones, Harris, Smith, Leatherwood, Dickerson and Patrick Surtain II all were named first-team All-Americans.
Smith was also chosen as Walter Camp Player of the Year.
If all five selectors — Associated Press, Football Writers Association of America, Sporting News, American Football Coaches Association and Walter Camp Football Foundation — name a player as a first-team All-American, then the student-athlete becomes a unanimous All-American.
For the likes of Harris, Smith, Leatherwood, Dickerson and Surtain, all five individuals represent Alabama as unanimous All-Americans.
Jones finishes the 2020 campaign with Consensus All-American honors, as the FWAA selected Trevor Lawrence (Clemson) as its first-team quarterback and Jones as a second-teamer.
The Crimson Tide will battle Ohio State next week for a chance to win the College Football Playoff National Championship.
