The state of Alabama has produced several highly-recruited offensive linemen in the past, and Koby Keenum looks to be the next elite offensive lineman out of the yellowhammer state.
There are plenty of reasons to believe Keenum could make a push to be one of the top offensive linemen in the 2023 recruiting class. At 6-foot-4 and 285 pounds, the sophomore out of Mars Hill Bible High School in Florence, Alabama has the body frame of a future D1 offensive lineman. Keenum showed an ability to finish blocks and displayed some nastiness in the Panther’s run-heavy offense last season.
When Touchdown Alabama saw him in action at the DexPreps Elite Football Camp Sunday, we learned there was a lot more to Keenum’s game. Keenum showed that he could protect his quarterback in passing situations despite not having many opportunities to do it in game situations. The 2023 recruit put his active feet on display and was able to use his strength and mobility to drive defensive linemen out of plays.

Keenum’s body frame and mobility make him a versatile offensive lineman. He could play inside or at tackle at the next level. Mars Hill tends to move him around quite a bit. His athleticism comes to the forefront on the defensive side of the football for the Panthers. He said he was working on different parts of his game this off-season.
“You can always try to get faster feet,” Keenum said. “I feel I have pretty good footwork now, but you can always improve on that type of stuff. If I can get quicker feet, quicker hands and get stronger, I will be a lot better.”
