Alabama offered Alston in July. The Crimson Tide’s previous running back coach Charles Huff was building a ‘solid’ relationship with Alston before he departed from Tuscaloosa to take the head coaching job at Marshall University. Alabama’s new running back coach Robert Gillespie has picked up where Huff left off, thanks to the relationship he built with Alston when he coached at North Carolina.
