Former Alabama football running back, Najee Harris went on ESPN’s First Take ahead of the NFL Draft to discuss his time at Alabama and the Crimson Tide’s competitive practice environment was brought up.
Harris spent four years in Tuscaloosa. He rushed for 3,843 yards and 46 touchdowns during his career at Alabama. The California native capped off his career at the University by winning the Doak Walker Award as a senior.
During his interview with First Takes host Stephen A. Smith and Max Kellerman, Harris talked about how practices at Alabama were often time more difficult than the actual game.
“For me to go to Alabama where they bring in the No.1 DB, the No. 1 linebacker, the No. 1 defensive lineman, the competition level is almost greater than the game,” Harris said. “You go up against all these guys, who are future first-rounders, future Hall of Famers, future All-Pros, all this talent that is coming there. Just me being at practice will almost be as hard as the game because I am going up against all these guys.”
